I have now been cigarette free for 1 month. And I haven't killed anyone. Yet.

My day as a Sears Customer [Mar. 28th, 2008|01:43 am]

I'm sure you've run into this one......the wife finds something - the "perfect" something that you need, and so you set out to get it, no matter the hassle or cost.

Most Creative Commercial Ever! [Jul. 9th, 2007|12:12 pm]
You just don't see creativity in commercials anymore. They are all designed to get your attention through annoyance, or sex.
Now I'll grant you, far too many of the general public won't get it, making the commercial useless. But it's nice to see one designed for those of us with half a brain.

The first 2007 update? [Jun. 13th, 2007|10:22 pm]
I'm not going to promise regular updates. But here is the overall summary.

Live Bands [Oct. 15th, 2006|11:02 pm]

I thought the idea behind switching from live concerts to lip-synced prerecorded "entertainment" was to eliminate issues with the performance.
If you are going to run a "live" show from tape, make sure the tape sounds good! Levels should be perfect. Lights should be perfect. It is not ok to screw these things up when you are not live.

Blue Man Group.....I am very disappointed.

Boy charged with "Meowing" at neighbor..... [Aug. 23rd, 2006|11:31 pm]

Judge to rule if 'meowing' is harassment

Associated Press
JEANNETTE, Pa. - Meow. A district judge has been asked to decide whether that word is a harmless taunt or grounds for misdemeanor harassment. Jeannette police charged a 14-year-old boy for "meowing" whenever he sees his neighbor, 78-year-old Alexandria Carasia.

The boy's family and Carasia do not get along. The boy's mother said the family got rid of their cat after Carasia complained to police that it used her flower garden as a litter box.

The boy testified Tuesday that he only meowed at the woman twice. Carasia testified, "Every time he sees me, he meows."

The boy's defense attorney, David Martin Jr., argued that the charge should be dismissed.

"This should never have been filed," Martin said. "This is not something that police should be wasting their time with or wasting the court's time."

Jeannette District Judge Joseph DeMarchis decided to wait 90 days before ruling. DeMarchis said his decision will be based on how the boy and his neighbor get along in the meantime.

My only thought on it, aside from how stupid the whole thing is.......   shouldn't a 78 year old woman be flattered by cat calls? :)

From the "where are they now" files...... [Jun. 12th, 2006|11:07 am]
Its no wonder Eddie Van Halen won't return David's calls anymore. This is just about the sadest thing I've seen.

My monthly rant [May. 24th, 2006|06:15 am]
NSA tapping our calls without any cause
Patriot Act being used to suspend the bill of rights in cases ranging from Terrorism to spam
FBI/Local police powers to enter your home without a warrant
Detention in secret, without the pesky need for charges
Fencing the boarder
Who is winning on "American Idol" now listed as "Major News" by the NY Times

And if that wasn't enough, after seeing how well Bush's methods work, the A.C.L.U. has now decided free speech for its own members isn't in the best interest of the organization.

Last night, for lack of anything else new on TV, I sat through "10.5:Apocalypse". It's one of those horribly written, overdone, over acted, over CGI'd type things where the major event isn't enough, they have to interject problems that just shouldn't exist. "Oh no, the helicopter got destroyed by the rushing water!" Yeah, thats what happens when you use a helicopter to look at the falls side of an overflowing damn....from below. A president who can't seem to find anyone but 1 formerly fired scientist to explain what is going on. A FEMA director who's primary concern, despite 10 cities falling into the ground, is her daughter not dropping the ball in the field. I could go on.....

Anyway, I kept thinking to myself, how does NBC think they can get away with such horrible writing on prime time? Then it hit me....much like violence in the news, people have seen so much of this absurd shit in the real world the past 5 years that we've become completely numb to bullshit. The notion of a caring President who has 1 decent person working for him is something of a romance story.....because in contrast to reality, you have a caring president, and SOMEONE who isn't full of shit giving him advice.

The fact that for the past 4 years, "Jed Bartlet" has polled higher than any public official in or running for office pretty much sums up the state we are in. I think deep down people are tired of all the bullshit, but too worn down by it to actually do anything, or even care about it anymore.

I don't know where this rant is going. This is what happens when I have to get up at 5:30am because some fuckwad (who is about to be unemployed) doesn't get his ass to work on time.

My favorite....."your car is missing the transmission. You need one to improve gas mileage. I'd actually get 2 for this car."
